Learning Japanese....On the intertubes!!!

Hello again guys, thanks for taking the time to read the first line of this blog post, you're going to regret it.

So iv been trying to learn Japanese, its been a long and arduous process of finding a method that doesn't rely on me shedding out hundreds of pounds to get lessons, with that in mind though, I will be taking lessons at some point, as there's no substitute for getting some conversation practice with a fluent speaker.

So after hours of trawling through the internet I found a lovely channel by a guy called RisuMiso, who in a series of videos starting with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CfSpdGSVsc intro ducted me to the wonders of a program called Anki...which then refused to run on my pc, but no matter, a replacement was quick in the finding, with a website called SmartFm.

Both Anki and Smart Fm are SRS programs, below is a small video from Smart Fm explaining why its all so amazing and why you should use it.

I actually agree with everything in that video, I suck at languages, in French I got a U, and that's hard to deal with as a normal straight A/A* student, even in English with this terrible spelling and grammar, so when I wanted to learn Japanese I was amazed to find myself mastering the Hirigana with relative ease, and although i'm still reviewing the last few to try and get it to the point were the Hirigana “Is not remembered, rather it is known” then I will be working on my katakana or kanji, woo!woo!

In my next post ill go into a bit more detail on how you can use simple free methods in conjunction with smart FM, to increase your remembrance capability.

i cant seem to get the video to display in a suitable fashion, sorry.

Bye for now.
